Disney™ PHOTOPASS Tips

Did you know that Disney’s PhotoPass photographers are ARTISTS?!

Using Disney’s PhotoPass system is a breeze – just easily locate a photographer (located at various points on Disney property which are noted on the park maps) and let him snap your photo.  The photographer will then hand you a card that you can reuse all over the parks and load up with as many photos as you want – there is no limit!  We recently had over 2000 photos!

Yes!  Your entire family can each have their own cards and link them together online.

Be sure and take a photo of the backs of the cards in case one gets lost.  You don’t need the card – just the number – to retrieve the photos online.

With Disney’s PhotoPass, you can see and share your vacation photos. It’s easy, fun, and there is no charge to get a Disney’s PhotoPass card or set up an account.

Once home, simply enter the number from the back of the card at www.disneyphotopass.com and all the photos taken will be displayed. Photos are only available for viewing for 30 days after they are claimed. For about $149, you can purchase a CD with rights to print all your photos from the PhotoPass.

And be sure to ask your photographers if they can do any *MAGIC* shots at their location!

Airlines, Lost Luggage, and Disney. ™ Oh my!

12 people…

One 6am flight…

Lots of carry-on luggage…

What is bound to happen?  Yep, a lost bag.

Wait.  You may say, “But you are a TRAVEL AGENT!  How did you lose your luggage?!”

Easily.  It can happen to the best of us.  You take 10 bags on the plane.  You leave with 9 bags.  You don’t realize it (even though you counted kids and bags repeatedly)  until you need something from that bag.

We didn’t need anything from that bag until we reached our Disney™ resort.

I panicked for a second and then realized, “Hey, Miss Travel Agent, you bought insurance.  Make your phone calls about the bag and then go enjoy Walt Disney World™ while the bag is found!”

And THAT is exactly how I would advise my clients!  So that is what I did!

Here was my course of action…

  1. Didn’t panic.
  2. Called either my travel agent (me!), the Disney™ resort lobby, or the airline’s Lost and Found Department.   (I called the airline’s Lost and found Department.)
  3. Described my bag and filed a claim number with the airline.   And (very important) I was able to tell them the bag was clearly marked with my awesome complimentary Disney™ luggage tag!
  4. Jumped on a complimentary Disney™ transportation bus and went to enjoy some Disney™ magic at a park while the airline and Disney’s™ Magical Express recovered my lost bag.
  5. Called back in a couple of hours to verify that yep, the airline found my forgotten bag in the overhead compartment before they left the airport and their Lost and Found Department had possession of it.
  6. Also verified during that call that Disney’s™ Magical Express service makes the rounds to all of the Orlando International Airport Lost and Found departments roughly once every hour and collects all lost luggage for complimentary delivery to the guests’ resort hotel room.
  7. Resumed our magical first day at Walt Disney World™ and found my checked bags and the infamous LOST CARRY-ON bag in my resort room when we returned that evening.

Would panic or worry have helped me find that lost bag?  Nope.

Did the peace of mind of knowing that I had followed all of my own travel agent advice (buy trip insurance, don’t pack all necessities in one bag, etc)?  Yes I did!!

If the bag had never been found, we’d have been just fine.  One quick trip to a local store or a resort gift shop, a quick phone call to the insurance company, and we’d have been back on our way to the magic!

The Best Disney ™ Take-Home Snack?

In just a short while, my family will be visiting Walt Disney World™ once again.

A mere 4 days after our vacation, I am honored to be speaking at a Ladies’ Retreat.

I would love to give away some authentic Disney™ treats as a few “door prizes” during my two speaking sessions!

So in my hunt for a Disney™ treat that will (1) make it home in tact and (2) last for 4 days after I purchase it, I have decided on the following items.

Which one would you choose if you could win a door prize?

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Mickey shaped rice crispy

Disney Fudge

Candy from Goofy's Candy Co.

Disney Fudge

Or shall I re-create a Disney favorite after we return home?

My daughter and I recently made these cupcakes that are similar to ones found at Disney.  They were oh, so good!

MAGICAL MEMORY MONDAY: Disney’s ™ Animator’s Palate

Animator’s Palate can be found aboard all 4 of the Disney Cruise Line ™ ships.

It is one of the 3 main dining restaurants that are scheduled in each guest’s rotational dining experience.

Enjoy these photos of Animator’s Palate.

As guests enter, the walls and decor are black and white.  During the course of the meal, they are gradually colored.  Fascinating to discover!
